Lake County NAACP is working for the betterment of our community:
- Annually awarding college scholarships to deserving minority youth
- Partnering with County Prosecuting Attorney Charles Coulson in chairing 'Begin the Conversation'
- This is a free and open forum dedicated to building relationships, achieving trust, educating the community and partnering with others to identify and implement
practical solutions
- Holding the Annual Freedom Fund Banquet for more than 50 years
- Provides recognition to Lake County high school students being awarded college scholarships
- Honors recipients of annual Community Impact Award, Community Public Safety & Service Award, Community Education & Legal Award,
and the Community Medical Award
- Provides networking and community building opportunities
- Assists with fund raising for next year's Scholarships
- Quilt Raffle
- Providing tutoring for Heritage Middle School
- Actively involved with the Painesville City School Volunteer Program
- Partnering with Bryant Stratton and the City of Painesville to bring a computer center to Painesville
- Worked with the Painesville City Schools and Ohio State University to bring ‘Real World, Real Money’ to the Painesville school system.
- New membership exchange with the Downtown Painesville Organization
- Actively volunteer for the United Way of Lake County
- Disseminates information on employment opportunities leading to actual employment of individuals
- Actively working to involve more of Lake County in its efforts, in order to bring their diverse talents to the effort to serve the community
